Party on the moon!

This weekend Brandon and I had the privilege of going to see an amazing cover band called, Party on the moon!  They were absolutely amazing!  They played everything from Bruce Springsteen, Guns and Roses, Prince to more current music like Black Eyed Peas, Usher and Lady Gaga.  It was probably the best cover band I have ever heard.  They have played for people like Donald Trump and his New Year's Eve Party's and they even played at Eli Manning's wedding.  That just tells you how good this group is and how NOT cheap they are to book for your event.  It was a $10 cover per person to see them, and it was well worth every dollar.   They played for 3 hours non-stop with out taking a break.  How those ladies can sing and dance that long without taking a break and still sound amazing at the end is just crazy.  If I am ever in the area of where they are playing again I'm going to definitely go see them again.  If I had an endless amount of money I would book them to play at my wedding in a heartbeat, haha!

This weekend was pretty low key for us else wise.  Saturday afternoon Brandon and I went to town to do a little bit of shopping and pick up some stuff that we needed before Beau and Alyse get here next week.  I am totally ready for my week of vacation.  Work is burning me out and I need a break from all the chaos.

I am going to try to blog at least once a week.  I figured if i blog once a week I'll have lots of more fun and exciting stuff to share with everybody.  So Mondays will be my blogging day so make sure you check back every Monday for a new post.  If I don't post it Monday I'll try to post it on Tuesday.

Brandon's graduation is approaching rapidly and again I can't tell you how fast these last 2 years have gone since I have been here.  I can't believe I have only been living here now for just over 2 years.  I feel like I have been here for so much longer than that.  Brandon graduates on Monday, May 16th at 9:30 in the morning.  I'm hoping for sunshine that day since it's suppose to be outside.  Brandon's parents are coming of course as well as his brother.  His Grandma Marilyn (his dad's mom), Grandpa Joe and Kathy (his mom's dad and wife) and maybe his Aunt Lisa and Melissa (we are keeping our fingers crossed they can come).  We are looking forward to every ones company and being able to show them a little bit of North Carolina.  That will for sure be a busy weekend and week with lots of company and festivities.

As I leave this blog let me leave you with another nightly joke.  I figured it's a good way to end my blogs and leave you with a bit of laughter!

Smartest Man in the World

A doctor, a lawyer, a little boy and a priest were out for a Sunday afternoon flight on a small private plane. Suddenly, the plane developed engine trouble.
In spite of the best efforts of the pilot, the plane started to go down. Finally, the pilot grabbed a parachute, yelled to the passengers that they had better jump, and bailed out.

Unfortunately, there were only three parachutes remaining.

The doctor grabbed one and said "I'm a doctor, I save lives, so I must live," and jumped out.

The lawyer then said, "I'm a lawyer and lawyers are the smartest people in the world. I deserve to live."

He also grabbed a parachute and jumped.

The priest looked at the little boy and said, "My son, I've lived a long and full life. You are young and have your whole life ahead of you. Take the last parachute and live in peace."

The little boy handed the parachute back to the priest and said, "Not to worry, Father. The 'smartest man in the world' just took off with my back pack."

Charleston, SC bound!

So here goes consecutive day #2 of my blog.  I think for the first while I'll be able to keep up to date with the blogging. I just hope that I don't forget about it or become too lazy to take the time to keep up with it.

So as some of you know and others of you don't, Brandon's really good friend from high school Beau, (he is the best man in our wedding) and his wife Alyse are coming out to visit us the beginning of March.  We are both very excited to have great friends out here to visit and take time away from school and work to just enjoy a week or relaxation and great adventures.  They fly into Charlotte, NC on Thursday the 3rd.  Unfortunately Brandon has a final that night so he won't be able to accompany on the 1 1/2 hour drive to get them, but at least I'll have great company for the car ride home.   The next day, Friday the 4th we are leaving for Charleston, SC for the weekend.  It's about a 5 1/2 hour drive.  Brandon and I have said many times that we want to go to Charleston before we ever move from here.  We have always talked about it but have never had the money or the time to do so, but its not turning back now.  The hotel is booked and paid for and we are more than ready for March to be here.

Here is a picture of the hotel that we will be staying at.  It's located in Isle of the Palms, SC which is just a short 25 min drive from downtown historic Charleston and the hotel is located right on the Atlantic ocean.  The pictures from the website look amazing and I'm sure its more beautiful in person.

We don't really have any other definite plans set for when Beau and Alyse are here visiting, but I'm sure we won't have any trouble finding things to keep them entertained.  I'll make sure I take lots and lots of pictures of your mini getaway to share with you all.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the weather cooperates while they are here and that it does not rain.  According to the weather man, it's suppose to be 73* tomorrow!  I'm really hoping the weather man does not let me down with the wonderful weather we are suppose to have this weekend.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is a sign of great weather to come.  I am more than ready for summer to get here.

Before I end my nightly blog I just wanted to share a funny joke I came across.  It's called "DUI  - Southern Style." Enjoy a little dose of some laughter tonight!

DUI - SOUTHERN STYLE

(Only people from
North Carolina could think of this. From the county
where driving while under the influence is considered a sport, comes
this true story.)

Recently a routine police patrol was parked outside a bar in
Kinston,
North Carolina.  After last call, the officer noticed a man leaving the
bar so apparently intoxicated that he could barely walk.  The man
stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes, with the officer
quietly observing.

After what seemed an eternity, in which he tried his keys on five
different vehicles, the man managed to find his car and fall into it.
He sat there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the
bar and drove off.  Finally he started the car, switched the wipers on
and off; it was a fine, dry summer night, flicked the blinkers on and
off a couple of times, honked the horn and then switched on the lights.
He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a little, and then
remained still for a few more minutes as some more of the other
patrons' vehicles left.

At last, when his was the only car left in the parking lot, he pulled
out and drove slowly down the road.

The police officer, having waited patiently all this time, now started
up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights, and promptly pulled the
man over and administered a breathalyzer test.

To his amazement, the breathalyzer indicated no evidence that the man
had consumed any alcohol at all! Dumbfounded, the officer said, 'I'll
have to ask you to accompany me to the police station.  This
breathalyzer equipment must be broken.'

'I doubt it,' said the truly proud Redneck. 'Tonight I'm the designated
decoy

It's been awhile

Wow...it has sure been awhile since I posted my last blog. I guess you can say that life has been busy and hectic and I kind of took a break from the whole blogging world. It's my hope to jump back on the blogging wagon and hopefully NOT take forever to stay up to date with this. We shall see how it goes.

Work has been super busy for me. I got promoted to manager at the beginning of the year at the spa so that place seems to take up a lot of my time and my days off no longer seem like days off. If I'm not being called into work to cover a shift or take care of a situation, I'm taking phone calls non-stop and having to answer questions or deal with something. I absolutely LOVE the people I work for and work and wouldn't change it for nothing. You think working at a spa would not be stressfull but it sure does have it's days!

Brandon is wrapping up his last year of law school and will be graudating this coming May, YIKES!! I can't believe its been 3 years already and that I have lived here for just over 2 years. The time has really gone by too fast. I am so proud of him and the huge accomplishment has has made. I have seen the stress that Law School has put on him these last 3 years and he definitely should be proud of himself for all his hard work.

I have truly grown to love North Carolina and would be very happy and content if we stayed here (partially for the fact that I hate moving and it's too much work) after Brandon graduated. But, I am also very open to the idea of possibly moving somewhere else or back to Washington all depending on where Brandon gets a job after he graduates. I totally miss my family and friends back home so I would be very happy if we moved back, but I can't help but think about how much I'm going to miss this place if we do move. I have grown some great relationships with some amazing people and the weather is amazing which is always a plus. As of right now we are unsure of where we will be come mid-May after he graduates. We have talked about it amongst ourselves and our families, but we are not really saying much to anybody else because we are not 100% sure where we will be living or moving too come mid-May. We should have a definite answer of what we will be doing come and where we will be living at the end of March. So stay tuned for that latest news.

This blog could go on forever since I have been MIA from it for awhile, but I think i'll end it here before I bore you too much and I'll try to keep my promise to pick back up on my blog on a daily basis! I just hope i'm not setting myself up for failure.
